As Deputy Headteacher you will make a significant contribution to all aspects of school life and will provide a strategic link to attendance, behaviour, rewards, student leadership, enrichment and you will lead the pastoral teams to ensure outstanding personal development for students.

This role will expect expertise and experience in leading change to ensure excellent student behaviour and culture as well as improving attendance and ensuring our students have an extended curriculum and experiences to leave us ambitious, confident and successful. You will lead an experienced pastoral team to remove barriers to students’ academic success, ensuring they are safe happy and can access the curriculum effectively. Expertise in supporting middle leaders to enhance our clear focus on raising attainment and achievement for all cohorts is essential.

Head of Faculty – Humanities (geography specialist)

We are looking for someone with talent, ambition, and experience to join our Extended Senior Leadership Team and to lead the Humanities Faculty at Lawnswood School.

The successful candidate will be a geography specialist and have experience of subject middle leadership and will have a strong track record of delivering improvement. They will also be a confident leader of staff, able to inspire a love of their subject in students of all ages.

We need someone with enthusiasm, a ‘can do’ mentality, an ability to inspire others and translate a vision into reality. We will expect you to lead the Humanities Faculty (geography, history and EPR) to oversee the curriculum, including standards and outcomes; teaching and learning; outcomes and engagement. You will be supported by a team of talented and dedicated colleagues.

Teacher of Business Studies

We are looking for a teacher of Business Studies with talent and ambition to join the Computer Science, ICT and Business department at Lawnswood School.

The successful candidate will be qualified to teach Business Studies at KS3-KS5. We offer a range of pathways (academic/vocational) tailored to meet the different needs of all of our students. Courses currently being delivered include Edexcel GCSE Business 9-1, OCR Cambridge Nationals in Enterprise & Marketing and OCR Level 3 Business. The successful candidate will be supported by a multi-skilled and experienced team.

The ability or willingness to teach some KS3 ICT would be advantageous. In return you will be fully supported by a heavily resourced department to help you in the delivery of the curriculum.

Red Kite Teacher Training offers excellent School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) programmes for both Primary and Secondary prospective teachers. In partnership with other schools in the Leeds, Harrogate and surrounding areas, our 1 year course leads to QTS* and PGCE.
