The Progression Module
by Danni Dover
The progression module is an additional opportunity which is designed to support every student in developing wider skills and attributes in order to ensure successful applications to university and work after their time in the sixth form.
Students are awarded 12 UCAS points which are accepted by Leeds Beckett University, University of Huddersfield and Leeds Trinity University. Within the Module, students are guided and supported through how to produce a cover letter, CV and career action plans, and how to research different courses and how to effectively budget when at university.
In February, Year 12 students welcomed James Kennedy from Leeds Beckett University who kindly came in for a session to discuss how to manage finance at university which students found very helpful. Next term, students will undertake a mock interview and will be assessed on the delivery of a presentation, not only developing their presentation skills but also their confidence.
