Lana Omle, Year 10
Hello I’m Lana Omle, I’m from Aleppo in Syria. I came to England with my family 2 years ago to escape from the war in Syria. I joined Lawnswood School in Year 8 and I had no English. I’m now in Year 10 and studying for my GCSE’s. My favourite subjects are Maths, Science and Art.
Outside of school I love going to Getaway Girls. Getaway Girls is an organisation for teenage girls to build confidence through a lot of different activities and experiences. The things I have done so far; include an outdoor residential at Herd Farm, a trip to Flamingo Land and cinema trips. In the summer we will be going to Norway.
At school I am a Student Leader for culture and diversity. We visit local primary schools to teach them about refugees and people from different cultures.
In the future I would like to be and Architect, because I want to help with rebuilding my country after the war stops.
