I first started playing rugby in 2013 for Milford Marlins after losing interest in football. I very quickly started to enjoy playing rugby, i trained for 4 weeks, 8 training sessions learnt the basics about rugby leading up to the big semi-final against East Leeds who I now currently play for. East Leeds won, I came off the subs bench to score on my debut, I then got asked to join East Leeds. I got a massive shock in the difference in training; I went from a division 2 side to the best u13 team in England. We became national champions by beating West Hull in the final. In the u14 we had great season by only losing 3 games all season, and winning matches 72-0, 54-12, 42-10.That year I also got selected to go to trials for Leeds, North vs South schools. Last year Lawnswood rugby team had a great season, I was the captain, we got to the final of Leeds and district cup, we lost narrowly, at that game unknown to me scouts came to watch, I was then elected to go on trial for Wakefield Wildcats.

I had a 6 week trial which included very intense training and great experiences like; paintballing, going to army camp, meeting professional rugby players. I then got offered a scholarship for 2 years after successfully passing the trial, I am only 3 months through the contract and really am enjoying it, I hope to get offered a u19’s academy contract after, then to Super League.

Lawnswood School continues to be a good school!
